Commercial Aircraft Engine programs have a complex history. From design to certification through continuous improvements in performance and reliability, they require significant upfront and continuous investment to optimize and develop, with many programs seeing decades of service.
Teething issues were experienced during the early years of all engine programs. In the same way past technical challenges are now mostly forgotten, and so shall be the current issues; our view is that, in the long run, Engine Manufacturers are well placed to resolve issues and improve their products to meet industry expectations.
