Credit Analyst

The key responsibilities include:

  • Assess creditworthiness of existing and future lessee customers.
  • Examine financial transactions and credit histories case by case (statements, balance sheets, legal documents etc).
  • Complete ratio, trend and cash flows analyses and create projections
  • Write credit reviews and corporate credit analysis papers for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent Credit Analysis in cross-functional transaction teams; make suitable structuring suggestions from the credit risk aspect.
  • Conduct analysis of industry trends and respective markets in order to provide comprehensive credit assessments / scores using the company’s internal systems.
  • Assess underlying assets of respective transactions in cooperation with the company’s technical department.
  • Monitor lessee portfolio and give strategic impulses as appropriate.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.


Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor’s or post graduate degree
  • Possess at least 3-4 years of solid relevant experience in a financial institution or in an aircraft lessor;
  • Solid understanding of financial statement and cash flow analysis
  • Ideally have experience of operating lease and finance lease transactions though strong candidates with a banking and finance background will also be considered;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with all levels of staff, external clients and service providers;
  • Ability to adapt progressively, with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity
  • Proficiency in office IT software, especially in Microsoft Office applications
  • Have high levels of energy and commitment with the ability to operate autonomously; - Be able to communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner;
  • Attention to detail and to the overall quality of the final work product;
  • Have strong organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise effectively to meet demanding timelines;
  • Have a willingness and capability to travel sometimes on short notice;
  • Be able to create and maintain strong relationships with key industry participants, such as airline customers, investors and lessor counterparties 

 

Transaction Counsel

The key responsibilities include:

  • management of all legal aspects of transactions from letter of intent to final contract, in relation to all aircraft leasing, financing, servicing and sale and purchase entered into by the company;
  • providing guidance on transaction structuring where required;
  • reviewing, negotiating and finalising all transaction documents such as letters of intent, confidentiality agreements, leasing, financing and security agreements, maintenance and servicing agreements, aircraft sale and purchase agreements and novation agreements;
  • ensuring all documentation is completed in a timely and efficient manner;
  • managing external legal, tax and other professional advisors in all relevant jurisdictions and managing the associated costs;
  • providing legal guidance in relation to all aircraft lease compliance and default issues, including lease restructuring and repossessions;
  • assisting with the company’s corporate approval process;
  • assisting with compliance matters, including the implementation of the company’s internal compliance and policies and procedures; and
  • providing general support and assistance to the General Counsel.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will: 

  • be a qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum 2-4 years post qualification experience with experience in a law firm, financial institution or in an aircraft lessor;
  • ideally have experience of operating lease, finance and sale and leaseback transactions though strong candidates with a banking and finance background will also be considered;
  • have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with all levels of staff, external clients and service providers;
  • have high levels of energy and commitment with the ability to operate autonomously; 
  • be able to draft in a clear, concise and accurate manner;
  • have meticulous attention to detail and to the overall quality of the final work product;
  • have strong organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise effectively to meet demanding timelines; 
  • have strong negotiating skills and the ability to assume a leadership role in the negotiation and closing of transactions;
  • have a willingness and capability to travel sometimes on short notice; 
  • be able to create and maintain strong relationships with key industry participants, such as airline customers, financiers, investors, OEMs, MROs and lessor counterparties; and 
  • be commercially astute with an ability to problem solve while maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance.

VP, Trading

The key responsibilities include:

  • As a senior member in the aircraft trading team, take responsibility for aircraft acquisition and divestment projects with a focus on trading with leasing companies and financial investors
  • Liaise with lessor and financial investor accounts (as assigned by the SVP Trading) to identify all feasible aircraft acquisition opportunities
  • Present aircraft acquisition opportunities internally as well as to investor customers, giving strong fact-based views and making appropriate recommendations 
  • Manage assigned divestment projects from planning and prospectus drafting to completion
  • For acquisition as well as divestment projects, be the accountable project manager up until LOI execution; thereafter continue to be the key external liaison throughout the documentation negotiation phase until closing 
  • Analyse and structure transactions, working closely with pricing, debt, credit, legal, tax, technical and other functions in the company; develop a deep understanding of the company’s investment structures and pricing models to make creative and timely structuring suggestions
  • Source and prepare data for the trading team, including from the internal lease management systems, aircraft appraisers, fleet data providers and industry news services.  
  • Compile marketing reports for internal use, e.g. on specific airlines, aviation markets, trading activity and aircraft availability (recurring and ad hoc reports).
  • Assist with the preparation of external reporting, e.g. investor customer updates on the status and progress of sales & trading campaigns.
  • Maintain and update databases including lessor contacts, call reports, transaction data along with template documents (e.g. LOI, MOU, NDA).
  • Monitor and report day-to-day industry updates relevant to the company’s market presence.
  • Liaise with internal departments (technical, credit, compliance, legal, finance, tax, insurance) and assist with the progression of transaction documents in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, legal stipulations, regulatory policies, process and procedures and general duty of care.

This role will involve close liaison with all the departments across the Company and with external parties (Lessors and Intermediaries) on a global basis. Due to the customer facing aspect of the role, it is a position of high visibility internally and externally.


Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Aviation Leasing Sector
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Excellent IT skills are a must with strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint 
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Excellent numerical analysis ability
  • Experience in a customer/external party facing role 
  • Have strong organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to problem-solve within tight deadlines
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally, including on short notice
